Biography
Young-Shin Kim
The actress Young-Shin Kim, moved as a child to Germany. After a classical dance education at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, she starred in numerous television films, including no less than four times in the „Tatort“ series. In national and international cinema movies, she played among others in Doris Dörrie’s „The Fisherman and his wife“ or in the anthology film „Innocence“ (directed by Andreas Morell). She played in the long-awaited second part of the Hungarian Action Comedy „ARGO 2 “ in which she performs a ninja girl in the style of Kill Bill.
On stage, she played among others in Frank Castorf’s „North“ by Louis Ferdinand Céline or in „The Idiot“ (F. Dostoyevsky). Directed by the Swiss Director Ueli Jäggi, she played and danced the Li-Si in „The End of the Beginning“ (Sean O’Casey) or she performed the lead role of the tour guide in „Agora“ by the Greek director Michael Marmarinos (also at the Volksbühne).
Besides being an actress, Young-Shin directs and choreographs as well. Most recently, she coreographed at the Berliner Staatsoper for the Opera „The Turn of the Screw“, her play, „Colours“ (based on Goethes theory of colours) toured in Poland by invitation of the Goethe Institute.
